Women’s March is a women-led movement dedicated to harnessing the political power of diverse women and their communities to drive transformative social change. Through intersectional education, grassroots activism, and community engagement, we create opportunities for new and seasoned organizers to take action. Our work includes training programs, outreach initiatives, and events empowering local communities.
Committed to dismantling systems of oppression, Women’s March embraces nonviolent resistance and strives to build inclusive, equitable structures rooted in self-determination, dignity, and respect.
Unity Principles
The Women’s March on Washington united a broad and diverse coalition of leaders to craft an intersectional platform known as the Unity Principles. These principles reflect our understanding of our struggles' interconnectedness and shared vision for collective liberation. They continue to guide our movement as we fight for justice, equality, and human rights.
We affirm that Women’s Rights are Human Rights, and Human Rights are Women’s Rights. Our vision is a society where all women, including Black, Indigenous, poor, immigrant, disabled, Muslim, lesbian, queer, and trans women, are free to care for their families. However, they are formed in safe, healthy environments free from systemic barriers.
Ending Violence
Women deserve to live whole, healthy lives, free from all forms of violence. We demand accountability and justice in cases of police brutality and call for an end to racial profiling and the targeting of communities of color. Dismantling gender and racial inequities within the criminal justice system is a moral imperative.
Reproductive Rights
We believe in Reproductive Freedom – the right to accessible, quality reproductive healthcare, including birth control, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, and comprehensive, medically accurate sex education. We reject any federal, state, or local rollbacks on these rights, and we stand firm in defending safe, legal, and affordable abortion access for all, regardless of income, location, or education.
LGBTQIA+ Rights
LGBTQIA+ Rights are Human Rights. We are committed to uplifting, expanding, and protecting the rights of all LGBTQIA+ individuals, including gay, lesbian, bi, queer, trans, and gender non-conforming people. Everyone deserves autonomy over their own body and freedom from restrictive gender norms, expectations, and stereotypes.
Workers’ Rights
We fight for an economy grounded in equity, transparency, security, and accountability. Women deserve equal pay, affordable childcare, paid family leave, healthcare, and safe workplaces. All domestic, farm, undocumented, and migrant workers must have the right to organize and earn a fair living wage.
Civil Rights
Civil Rights are fundamental human rights. This includes voting rights, freedom of speech, and the right to worship without fear of intimidation or harassment. We call for an all-inclusive Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to ensure protections for all, regardless of race, gender, age, or disability.
Disability Rights
All women’s issues intersect with disability rights. Women with disabilities, including Deaf women, deserve full inclusion, accessibility, independence, and equal opportunities in all aspects of society. We fight to remove barriers and ensure full participation in American life, the economy, and culture.
Immigrant Rights
We stand for the rights of immigrants and refugees, regardless of status or country of origin. Migration is a human right, and no human being is illegal. We believe in a nation that honors its promise of freedom and opportunity for all.
Environmental Justice
Clean water, clean air, and access to public lands are fundamental rights for every person and community. We must protect our environment and climate from corporate exploitation, ensuring public health and safety are never sacrificed for profit.
